Here is a Malayan flat-shelled turtle (Notochelys platynota), also at the Prague zoo.

The zulia's toad-headed turtle in Wroclaw is believed to be incorrectly identified years ago. If my info is correct, this animal should be a Mesoclemmys raniceps, not zuliae.

I had one of the turtle on it’s back but I accident deleted half of my memory card when I was trying to clear out the edits out of the card I do have one of the croc with a sleeping mud turtle or at least appears to be one since it’s head shape looks different, wanna see that one too?

Thats such a shame .... It would be awesome to see these two together.

But on the plus side I'm sure that there will be plenty of future opportunities to take a shot of these two.

I added it the SDZ gallery, definitely need to open the photo to see them both since it’s a wide aspect shot I’m pretty sure it’s a West African Mud Turtle due to the head but I could be wrong

They definitely look pretty content there together, hard not to anthromorphise but they certainly look like pals.

They all get along so well but I have noticed one of the crocodiles likes to be more recluses from the rest, only the African cichlids will nibble algae off its scutes

The Malagasy big headed turtle is also kept within this enclosure though right ?

They are indeed! the only species not signed are the cichlids and they appear to be the assorted type. I’m a bit more familiar with freshwater aquarium fish and they appear to be the assorted mix type of cichlids.

Wow, I was expecting something far smaller but this is a really excellent looking exhibit.

I bet the resident crocs and turtles are happy in such an enormous enclosure.

I would say they are and this is one of my favorite sections in Africa Rocks, it’s simple looking but does the job for these crocs and turtles. The glare is the only annoying aspect but I love this habitat

I'll bet it is, looks awesome.

One thing I was thinking was "why isn't there a bench for the public to sit on and watch the animals" and then I took another look at the first shot and there is indeed a bench opposite the enclosure which is brilliant.

It’s a cool area to take a break, my tip is for anyone to get there early morning or near the end of the day to see less glare. I was able to see a croc swim by and startle the fish once
