Zoos with the rarest / most endangered freshwater turtles

Impressive mixed freshwater turtle species exhibit at Wroclaw zoo, Poland, which apparently contains 12 turtle species:

I was looking at the fairly recent news of the arrival of the Malagasy big headed turtle (Erymnochelys madagascariensis) at Jersey zoo in the UK which is now the only place outside of Madagascar to hold this species.

Freshwater turtles are an incredibly threatened group of reptiles for many reasons and are therefore kept ex-situ by many zoos for captive breeding / insurance populations. This gives us zoochatters the chance to view these animals in all their strange beauty even as their populations are being decimated in the wild.

I was thinking it might be interesting to create a thread solely on this topic and listing the zoos around the world where some of these rare turtles that are in such peril in the wild can be seen in captivity.

What vulnerable, endangered or critically endangered freshwater turtles do you know of being kept by zoos ?
I apologize if someone has already pointed this out but I know for a fact that there are at least 2 more zoos with the Malagasy big-headed turtle in their collection. My local Sacramento Zoo has one that a sign says they received from the Houston Zoo in 2018. I presume the Houston Zoo has more. And then after a Google search of "erymnochelys madagascariensis zoo" I found DWA appears to also house this species.

And of course since I love tooting the Sacramento Zoo's horn, I will also note they exhibit Chinese stripe-necked turtles, Chinese three-striped box turtles, and have one of the best breeding programs for western pond turtles.

No, don't worry, thank you for your comment @Hipporex which is welcome because I am very interested in the Malagasy big headed turtle and it would be great to find out more about what places keep them.

That said, are you sure that Sacramento zoo holds the Malagasy big headed turtle ?

I found this shot in the gallery by @Great Argus but it isn't of Erymnochelys madagascariensis but rather a Malagasy three striped turtle :

That is actually one of the Chinese three-striped turtles I was refering too. They do indeed have a Malagasy big-headed turtle (labeled as a Madagascar big-headed turtle) but I do not believe a photo has been uploaded to the gallery.

If you watch this video and skip to 1:16, you'll see they hold the aforementioned turtle species. I think they only have one now thought, whereas in the video you can see 3. Also I appear to have been incorrect about the year the zoo received the animals.

Oh right , so you mislabeled the photo @Great Argus :p

Yes , thats right , I can see it has been labeled as a Malagasy big headed turtle too.

I wonder why they only keep one of these ?

Shouldn't there be every attempt to try to breed them in captivity given their rarity ?

I'm unsure. I could be misremembering, after all I did misremember the amount of turtles originally, the common name the turtles are labeled as (they're labeled as Madagascan big-headed turtle apparently), and the year the turtles were received.

I'm saying I THOUGHT they only has one individual but in the video, filmed in 2016, 3 individuals can be confirmed, so I'm unsure of the current zoo population.

Hmmmm thats interesting, well I really hope they have more than one and that they have a plan to breed them as it is a very endangered species and really does require ex-situ as well as effective in-situ conservation.

One, you are both incorrect in your ID. The photo is a Chinese Three-striped Box Turtle, of which they keep a handful. The Chinese Stripe-necked turtles are kept in the goldfish pond, not the reptile house.
The Madagascar prefix on my photo is incorrect, why that is there I don't know. :p

I do have a photo of the actual Madagascar Big-headed Turtle, but I didn't upload it due to relatively poor quality.

Yes but you are the one who put the Madagascar prefix on the photo :p , anyway, doesn't matter its good that more than a few zoos have the turtle within their collections.

The Madagascar prefix was an accident, not a misidentification. I am well aware of the proper ID. :p

Anyways, here is a photo of an actual Madagascar Big-headed Turtle in their collection.
