I'm not sure how many visitors to London Zoo realised that there were 3 vicunas in 2 separate paddocks. Sadly the giant anteaters were very difficult to see, had to stoop down low to spot them. Hopefully, ZSL will develop the site for something else once the dinosaurs have left

You say that, but I have seen Giant Anteater at a total of 17 collections and have found the species to be pretty showy at all of these barring Chester Zoo; this total includes ZSL London Zoo!
I hope ZSL does not go out of giant anteaters, they led the renaissance of the GA's back in Britain, from their original pair to 15 collections now holding in the UK, making us the most holders in one country in Europe.
I think that of all the zoos that have caught the dinosaur 'disease' over the last few years ( Twycross, Edinburgh, Whipsnade, Chester, Marwell...), London will be the first to remove live animals from an enclosure with the specific intention to replace them with model dinosaurs!
The T Rex will become as common as the Meerkat in Uk zoos at this rate. London don't have room for 3 T Rex exhibits though!
Possibly, but I'm not sure if London really has the capacity and infrastructure to handle many more visitors in peak season without the overall visitor experience diminishing. On the plus side it might make a force a few more people visit and appreciate the North bank (not that there's much there nowadays) and/or generate some funds to develop the North bank.
Totally agree about the sorry state of the North bank of the zoo. However, major plans to redevelop the Snowdon Aviary, including black and white colobus monkey walk through, will certainly enhance that side of the zoo. I'm pretty sure there must be a few more plans in the pipeline to support Snowdon Aviary project.

Indeed, it's not usually a problem, but I've never seen London's despite visiting five years in a row, and I know others have commented on this enclosure specifically not offering good viewing opportunities.

News from today:
Jimmy and Yoda the gibbons are back and seem to have settled into their new enclosure very well (pictures in the gallery)
The Striped Squirrel enclosure is undergoing what looked like some serious refurbishment, at least there was a lot of hammering and chiselling going on. The squirrels are now in the old Panther Chameleon enclosure in the lemur area.
The pregnant Narrow-striped Mongoose has had her pup and was on-show in Rainforest Lookout.

I was at also at London Zoo today; I thought that the new gibbon accommodation was extremely well done and was very impressed with it.
I was very impressed too. Really well done, lots of climbing opportunities, well furnished, and the gibbons clearly liked being there. It was an interesting comparison with Gibbon Forest at Twycross which I saw for the first time last week. The new enclosure at London makes great use of wire mesh which the gibbons were using extensively for climbing.

No it's in the Clore. The first exhibit straight in front of you if you come in through the automatic doors closest to the rainforest walk through.
Does anyone know when the refurbishment of the Snowdon Aviary will begin?
I know it will be next year but hopefully it will be towards the start of the year.

From what I can recall work on the revamp on the Snowdon Aviary is due to start Jan 2018 and be completed summer 2019.
