Some good news, some very bad news, and some news that is just sort of...news
Regarding the latter, according to social media the filming was for the new Harry Potter series. I've heard nothing to confirm that but apparently there's some videos on Twitter (apparently being the key word) of the cast and crew. Makes sense I suppose, especially with the level of secrecy and the fact they've all magically disappeared today
The bad...
The tamandua has died

staff and volunteers seem very upset about it, understandably
The good...
I asked about the wild dogs - apparently they are arriving soon
The zoo are
trying to work out how to make the capybaras permanent. I'm aware of this forum's general opinion of the public's favourite dopey rodent but I think that it can only be a net positive for London, every single school group I passed had kids shouting about them
The zebras and giraffes are apparently not separated due to fighting. Not denying they've been scrapping if there's footage, but the separation isn't directly because of that
New coatis are arriving soon
Male pygmy hippo will arrive once the capybaras move to Whipsnade (or at least at the time they're meant to)
Oni the female okapi is
probably pregnant
A breeding male langur arrived at some point in recent weeks, so hopefully he'll get on better with the troop than the last one
Also, the baby gentle lemur is adorable
Also also, I haven't been able to ask about the sunbirds. I'm still here for another hour or so so I'll try and get an answer, but I counted 2 of each species
