Older zoochatters will remember Proboscis also at Twycross, Frankfurt and (I think it was) Basel(?) zoos in earlier decades too
I saw them in Cologne and Wilhelma in 1984.

They aren't common, but there would be a lot of Zoochatters who have seen them because a lot of Zoochatters have been to Singapore, plus there were some in the Netherlands until recently.

On a similar note: Celebes crested macaque?
I know a few are kept in European collections, but I don't think I've ever seen one kept in US zoos.

More than three holders. I can't think of any not already listed off the top of my head but this species is uncommon in the US.They are however kept in the USA. 3 collections I know of are Memphis Zoo, DeYoung Family Zoo and Special Memories Zoo but there may be more.

Here is a more complete list for me:
Liger (Is this one actually that rare? Animal Haven Zoo and some circuses)
Indeed, a rarely seen species and, according to ZooTierListe, the only one currently in Europe. After visiting Ouwehands I can probably safely say I'm one of the few ZooChatters to have seen the short-tailed spotted cuscus![]()
And there must be several UK ZooChat members (myself included) who saw the species at Twycross Zoo back in the 1980s
I'd imagine quite a lot of Zoochatters have seen the species. There are no fewer than seven members with photos of this species in the galleries, for example. After visiting Ouwehands I can probably safely say I'm one of the few ZooChatters to have seen the short-tailed spotted cuscus![]()
