When: ~ 372,000,000 B.C.E. (Famennian stage of the Late Devonian epoch)
Where: Komi Republic, Russia
Additional Information: Has been dubbed the "the earliest reconstructable tetrapod." Was an aquatic, surface-cruising animal. Its eyes were raised above the top of the head, and the curve of its snout and lower jaw create a "disconcerting grin" that revealed its formidable teeth.

When: ~ 137,000,000 B.C.E. (Hauterivian stage of the Early Createcous epoch)
Where: Huajiying Formation (Hebei Province, China)
Additional Information: Was the earliest Asian compsognathid and the and, at 1.6 feet (0.5 m) in length, its holotype specimen is the smallest among compsognathids (unless Scipionyx is treated as a compsognathid).

Where: Nemegt Formation (Mongolia)
Additional Information: In total three specimens were found, two
Nemegtonykus and 1 of another alvarezsaurid species, suggesting this group was common in Late Cretaceous East Asia.
