ZooParc de Beauval Zooparc de Beauval News 2020

Thanks! Was the Lanthanotus borneensis mentioned in the Carnet de bord videos? I haven’t seen them in there.

Wikipedia says Dusit Zoo closed in 2018 ?
I think it is meant: Specimens that were kept in the former Dusit Zoo (afaik their douc langur groups were tranfered to another or other zoos in Thailand, when Dusit Zoo closed its doors).

Closed maybe, but the animals haven't vanished. But, again, I don't have the exact information.
Lanthanotus borneensis were not shown up in Les Carnets de Bord, but they are listed here (coming from Praha Zoo) :

Correct Dusit closet last year and majority relocated to KK Open Zoo. Probably paperwork ...

First reactions on the dome seem to be quite positive on the French forum. I read, that Beauval neither wanted a Masoala nor a Gondwanaland-like dome, nor, in fact, a ”tropical dome ” at all, but more a classical exotarium, just very large. Nice idea, hope it is done well!

Looking at all the content that has been posted in the internet, it does seem very nice. I really want to visit it! Any info about the outdoors species? (Langurs, Harpy eagles, Lemurs,...)

In a YouTube clip i saw grey langurs, are those instead of Douc langurs ?

Also watching de carnet de bord videos i saw them draining the manatee tanks in the gorilla paviljon. Are those empty now ? Awaiting new species or did they split up the manatees ?

I don’t think so because on their posters you can clearly see the Douc langurs, I think there are two options: 1. Both the Douc and grey langurs will live in the Dôme or 2. The grey langurs are living in the Douc langur exhibit until the Douc langurs arrive.

As for the manatees, I have the same question, and not only for the manatees, but also for the grey langurs and Aldabra giant tortoises. I hope they will inform us about it.

According to discussion on french forum, grey langurs are there only temporarily as there are apparently some works on their exhibit being done.

There is also mentioned that both doucs and harpy eagles should arrive "in a few days" but that is what automatic translator spitted out so I can't be 100% sure how accurate it is.

A detailed species list of most of the animals at the dome and quite some background Information has been posted in a French Forum some minutes ago...

Two key take aways are:
  • The Harpy eagles have arrived some days ago and are currently kept behind the scene until their overnight enclosure is finished
  • The red-shanked douc (1 male, 4 females) will arrive as soon as some administrative processes are completed and will replace the gray langurs who will move back into their old enclosure afterwards

I have an answer for your question on the manatees. On the interactive map you can see the name of the gorilla paviljon changed from ‘Serre tropicale des gorilles et lamantins’ to ‘Serre tropicale des gorilles’. Conclusion: they left the building (and I think a new species will come in it’s place like some kind of sea turtle for example)

Hey,

Does anyone know which species where kept at the place where now the new dome is?
Or did they not keep animals at the location of the dome
