Antoine, do the patas still live together with the gorillas on the island, or is that seperated as well?
From what we know yes.
Pachamama, the first ever born andean condor in Beauval (last year, august 1st), will be released into the wild in Argentina. This female left the zoo for Buenos Aires last april 21st and will join other young andean condor in Patagonia in a transition aviary before their released.

- a new indoor space for Patas monkeys with a new perspective on Gorilla Island;
- completely redesigned climbing and play structures for gorilla family;
- new aviaries for some of our birds;
- the fully renovated main sea lion pool;
- a brand new space for you to discover the actions of association Beauval Nature.
As well as the dome or the vegetation has grown really well.

For those who are interested in, here Bearded Vulture chick hatches and doing well after three facilities work together to secure the future of the egg produced an article of the Vultur Conservation Foundation about the bearded vultur pair in Beauval and their first healthy chick (hatched in Spain !!!).

In a video in a new press article we learn that the douc babies are a female and a male.
In this video the zoo explain that the doucs are sensitive and the keepers will be more carefull for the reopening today and the next days (first days with public for them).

I don't like it too much and what looks really bad is that they did not replace the old building but just put something really uggly on it.
Were they free to tear down the old buiding (monument conservation?)? I don't know how it is in France, but here in Switzerland you can find the weirdest protection rules in such cases.
However: If you find this ugly, then what do you think of the indoor enclosures for apes at Wilhelma Stuttgart or the "nice" support masts in the outdoor enclosures for apes at Zoo Basle?
This building is not protected at all and not sure it is in good condition in for the animals.
I never visit Stuttgart and visited Basel before the new enclosures for apes so can't answer to you @zoomaniac but I confirm the new look of the building is really uggly in my opinion.
