Lowland Gorillas in Europe 2022

Pairi Daiza’s Lomako will be moving to another European zoo to become a breeding male. The zoo in question will be announced soon. This leaves Shomari, Tebogo and Indigo as the remaining gorillas in Pairi Daiza.

I heard he is moving to Gaia zoo in the Netherlands.
In Gaia zoo they have 2 adult males, Loango and Mosi who is castrated.
Are there any who knows if they are being moved ? :)

Great news! Do you have a source for this?
The write-up from Paia Daiza mentions that he will now have 'reproductive potential'(or something like that) so he must be going to a breeding group. Gaia Park is the one that needs a new male. I'm just a bit surprised EEP have selected a male that isn't genetically more under-represented than Lomako. But with this choice maybe they hope by moving him they can move more young males to Paira Daiza as a result. London do need a male too but somehow it seems less likely to me that would be the location.

A point is that Badongo, full brother of Lomako residing at Jersey, that Badongo seems not to be in a very prolific situation. There is not too much offspring from Badongo.
At the same time Lomako is not the most young one to start a career as leading Silverback. His mother Virunga is except two sons and two daughters and their offspring unrelated.

In the annual lecture of the director of Blijdorp for the Vrienden van Blijdorp it was mentioned that gorilla male Nasibu will leave for Pairi Daiza in a few months to start a new breeding group over there.

From where will come the females for this new and starting breeding group?

Is there any solution for the two females at Apenheul now separated from their silverback and that young male causing trouble ? female Mfugaji, female Chama, male Jabari.

Very interesting. I know Paira Daiza has requested a breeding group before but wasn't allowed. Now perhaps they will. Nasibu was previously supposed to go to New Zealand but that move has been cancelled now?

Jabari was due to move to the Al Ain Zoo in the United Arab Emirates last autumn. After the move, the females will rejoin the group.

As far as I know the move has not yet taken place.
