Where do the Deer & Antelope Play?: A Look at America's Ungulate Populations

Knew I should have sent it to you first, but you've been so busy :p
Haha — well, thank you :p I would’ve found time for it, eventually! I wouldn’t have minded :)

Were these recently acquired? They were not present last September.
They were. They received a bachelor group from San Diego this spring.

When did Columbus go out of musk deer?
Within the last couple of weeks. They were down to a single female for awhile, but she is now gone as well.

I'm surprised it took 9 days for someone to notice I also forgot one of the most common species :D

Ox Ranch, one of the biggest and most well-known hunting ranches in Texas, has officially opened a safari. Their website provides no info on how to visit. Species to add Ox Safari, TX to:

Blackbuck, Thomson's Gazelle, Springbok
Bison
Bongo, Eland, Greater Kudu, Nyala, Sitatunga
Bharal, Markhor, Barbary Sheep, Himalayan Tahr
Axis, Barasingha, Eld's, Fallow, Hog, Pere David's, Sika, White-tail deers
Elk
Addax, Roan, Sable, Blesbok, Gemsbok, Arabian Oryx, Scimitar Oryx, Blue Wildebeest
Red Lechwe, Waterbuck
Red River Hog, Warthog
Giraffe
White Rhino, Plains Zebra

Disney's Animal Kingdom keeps Impala and Yellow-backed Duiker.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge keeps Springbok, Common Eland, Lesser Kudu, White-bearded Wildebeest, Generic Giraffe, and Okapi.

I see you have Lesser Kudu, Addax, and Red River Hog listed under DAK. I don't know for sure if they have those species or not (they could have easily hid on the safari ride), but DAK Lodge has all of those species, so it possible that these listings were actually from the lodge?

The animals at DAK and DAK Lodge are managed together so they're not really separate places from a management standpoint. Animals get moved between the lodge and the park quite regularly as I understand it.

Addax were replaced with the domestic Goats a few years ago. As far as I know, it's always been Greater Kudu at the park and Lesser at the lodge. Red River hogs I'm also not aware of being kept at the park.

No, those listings were for the park. If there's no question mark then I was able to confirm them through photos of social media (either from the place itself, or recent photos from visitors).

The species you listed, are those in addition to being kept at the other facility?

They're overall managed as one facility, like Ituri said, but they still have separate USDA inspections and have to have transfer paperwork and all that.

What is your proof for those three species in question? Because before my trip to Disney, I did a lot of research including watching hours of footage from people's visits in order to figure out what species to look out for and never found any evidence of any of those three species being kept in the park.

I have no idea. It's been several months since I finished the list and 10 months since I started, and I went through a thousand or so places. I don't have a clue what any specific piece of proof was. If it was on USDA or ZIMS and I couldn't find photographic evidence, it has two question marks (and on my spreadsheet, is in yellow).

The Transcaspian Urail at the Minnesota Zoo was recently either taken off exhibit, shipped to a different zoo, or passed away. I'm not sure what happened yet, but a question mark should probably be put over that listing for the time being.

I'm pretty sure they are completely gone.

Milwaukee just obtained Scimitar-horned Oryx.

Manitowoc Lincoln Park Zoo keeps Dall Sheep.

I can confirm that Animal Haven keeps Sika Deer and Plains Zebra.

Brookfield just obtained a Pygmy Hippo.

Grant's no longer has blackbuck or zebra. They completely changed business model a year or two ago and now only have a few species of deer/native hoofstock. I'm not sure they'll even be keeping those.
I went to Grant's Farm recently (July 27th of this year) and they actually still have zebras. They aren't free-roaming in the Deer Park, they're in a separate enclosure within the deer park that the tram drives by as it takes you to the Tiergarten. They even had a zebra-donkey hybrid in their enclosure. There's not really a way to get a good look at them, but they're there. It's beenlike that for as long as I can remember. I know they do special vip experiences where you can get exclusive looks at some of their animals so maybe a closer and better view of that enclosure is part of it. There weren't any blackbuck that I could see though.

Does Guam count in this list? Philippine deer, not seen in the mainland I believe, are held by the Guam Zoo and the Valley of the Latte

That's helpful to know! I think Guam counts, but they don't have anywhere with a USDA license so it's harder to track.

Several of those are definitely incorrect. That's why I don't rely on just USDA. I'm just super behind on stuff, sorry. And yes, those are all domestics not covered here.

I apologize, I was unaware that USDA reports were not correct. I admit I got a bit excited when I saw black muntjac and bearded pigs on here. I once again am sorry.
