So I should probably update this thread :D Back in early May I privately decided to stop participating for the year, as I was becoming too focused on going to zoos that had needed species and didn't feel like I was trying to go to places purely for enjoyment. After doing one big trip that coincidentally got me a bunch of species, I've gone back and forth on whether I should rejoin or not. Another trip that was family-related got me more, including the species that was hardest for me to get (lesser flamingo), and now I'm two fairly easy species away from completion. I'm still undecided on whether I will get those two or not, but I figured I should post this all instead of telling Sealy about changing my mind again :D

Unfortunately, this might be as complete as I'll get for this challenge. I might be able to see one more duck species at Phoenix, get to the Herpetological Society (if that place even counts), or even do an end-of-year trip to San Diego, but those aren't guarantees.

There's tons of random little Wisconsin zoos you could get to.

I also tried the fun exercise to check how I would rate in the NA Challenge this year. I think, I'm a Penguin and Gopher tortoise away from the finish line. I don't remember seeing the Tortoise at Prague, Plzen or Wroclaw, but I will probably get it until the end of the year. Been at Faunia last year, but this year my Penguin total is going to stay 5 :) Bona Fide Challenge considered from European stand point.

One other question: would European mouflon count for Bovine Bonanza?
Just realized non-Australian herps don't count, so this disqualifies the Fijian iguana and Solomon Islands skink listed here. That's still fine with me, as I can sub in frilled lizard and Australian water dragon from a visit to Reptilia (same one as listed earlier in the thread) to maintain the required numbers.

Per the official description posted by Coelacanth18 they would, as Oceania counts.

The Steve Irwin: 5 mammals, 5 birds, and 5 reptiles/amphibians native to Australia and/or Oceania

One Drop, One Life (18/18) - COMPLETE

14. Monocled Cobra (Naja kaouthia)
15. Banded Water Cobra (Naja annulata)
16. Ridge-nosed Rattlesnake (Crotalus willardi)

Last I checked, 16 doesn't equal 18 :p you still have two more rattlesnakes to get.

Silk and Stinger (4/6)
3. Brazilian Black Tarantula (Grammostola pulchra)
4. Brazilian Whiteknee Tarantula (Acanthoscurria geniculata)

I only had you at 1/6 before this, with Mexican Redknee Tarantula. Where did you get a scorpion?

3. Common barn owl (Tyto alba)
4. Barred owl (Strix varia)
5. Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo)
6. Snowy owl (Bubo scandiacus)

That's a lot of owls! The Chaco and Ninox are especially interesting to see.

*Alright so, one of the last Galápagos tortoises I've not yet been able to identify has a high likelihood of being C. guntheri, based on the article linked below. However, it's also entirely possible that the individual is a hybrid between C. guntheri and C. vicina, or perhaps is a purebred vicina (the article was written about a year before the hatch of the individual in question, so it can't be entirely depended upon). I have yet to try to compare this individual's shell to known guntheri and vicina, but it is at least rather likely to be the former. Regardless, I seem to recall that any Galápagos count for this challenge, but I'm happy to not count this individual if that is what is deemed appropriate. Just let me know!
