Akron Zoo Akron Zoo News 2022

I don't know if Cleveland's 4D theater counts, but they used to have a 4D motion simulation where the Carousel is now. I'll have to find a pic

That is more of a traditional 4-D theater. The main difference between the two are CMZ’s has glasses to watch on a screen. Akron’s has VR head sets that played the video in the head set. Seats move with both.

From what I heard on the zoo’s social media, they are assessing the future of the capybara habitat and a new species will be temporarily housed there.

Or maybe they can use a different mammal from South America, like bush dogs, agoutis or tapirs.

As much as I'd love to see bush dogs or tapirs at the Akron Zoo, I highly doubt this would happen, unfortunately. :( Agouti is an animal I could see Akron Zoo getting.

If I'm remembering correctly that exhibit was on the smaller side so that limits what can go there unless they expand somewhere

Maybe they could make a mixed-species habitat that has tamanduas, prehensile-tailed porcupines, two-toed sloths, and red-rumped agoutis similar to ZooMiami.
