The problem is the zoo already has porcupines in the Rainforest. Maybe Rock Hyrax since they used to be at the zoo?Usually another good candidate would be created porcupine.

The first row of indoor exhibits were for the Guenon, Mangabeys, and Swamp Monkeys, then the nocturnal section and the Gorillas. The only mention of the Colobus I saw were on the outdoor exhibit and that said they were off exhibitI was there middle march I saw Colobus in first exhibit on left as you entered into main area
That would be interesting since hyraxes are related to elephants. The problem is the zoo already has porcupines in the Rainforest. Maybe Rock Hyrax since they used to be at the zoo?
From what I was told on Tuesday, everything that's currently closed (Yagga Tree, Tropical Bears, Food court, and Australian Aviary) should be reopened by early/mid June. Bears might still be closed, but the employee said it depends on the weather and how much it allows for construction. What is currently closed at the zoo, based on their current map? Considering a visit mid-June. The original plan is is African Safari and Cleveland Museum of Natural History, but the safari has a dino thing opening in June (bleh) and Balto is currently off exhibit at the museum, so considering the zoo maybe instead. I originally wasn't considering the zoo because of all the construction.
I know the species list on the website is awful but it's so hard to not look at it![]()

The only thing staying closed is the Reinberg Homestead in Australian Adventure. There are no plans to reopen it again at the moment
I wonder what the thoughts are behind not opening the homestead? Do they not want to put money towards updating it? Possibly doing something else entirely in the long term? I doubt they have the capacity to even plan or think about it too much right now with finishing up the bear hollow and wanting to start the major expansion and renovation of the Rainforest but I'd be curious if there are any thoughts?Just left the zoo. Lots of new updates.
The new dining court options are- Tenders Love & Chicken, The Burger Kitchen, Pizza Hut Express
- Harbor Seal no show
- Pathway in front of Bear Hollow has reopened
- Yagga Tree will open first week of June.
- Tropical Bears should be returning in June, with Bear Hollow opening July.
- No word on how many Sloth/Andean Bears will return
- Phase I of Primate Forest will not break ground this year. The employee I spoke to says it will happen in 2024/2025 at the earliest
- No plans to reopen the Homestead
From what the employee said there's no plans to remove it at the moment, but that there's no reopening plans either. My guess is in the next 5-10 years both the Yagga Tree and Homestead (as well as possibly the unused theater) will be redeveloped. All three are relics of their time, and they're already about to turn 25. The barn/ walkabout I can see staying alot longer.I wonder what the thoughts are behind not opening the homestead?
