For the husbandry of (sub)tropical species, the local Californian climate of SD and thus the possibility to keep them outdoors (almost) all year long is a huge advantage; for species adopted to colder climates, Omaha is one step ahead.
Any Sea World related zoosThere is probably already a thread that talks about this, but what, in your opinions is the most overrated zoo in the world?
In my eyes, San Diego yes, Orlando, absolutely not. Although I've never seen anyone rate either park that isn't Busch Gardens high on their lists anyways.Any Sea World related zoos
There might be one small issue with saying Toronto is among the US’s most overrated zoosBronx Zoo
Toronto Zoo
Zoo Miami
Those are for me the three most overrated zoos in the US.
What exactly about Toronto makes it overrated? Seeing as it is the only AZA-accredited Canadian facilities, and one of the few well-known facilities in the eastern portion of the country, I've always thought it was only rated so highly because it had limited competition.Bronx Zoo

0/10 ragebait, seen it before. Plus, Toronto ain't exactly keen on being associated with the US at the moment...Bronx Zoo

Have you visited the other two facilities? As I have previously seen, you have not visited Toronto. I have been to both Toronto and more recently Bronx, and both are amazing. Bronx is better than SD imo, and it’s my personal favorite (Omaha is clearly better). Miami can speak for itself, large zoo, large paddocks, many species, all exhibit are excellent, good or decent. I could understand the argument for San Diego on the other hand, it’s great and all, but it has some issues, but every single zoo in America has them. Once you’ve reached America’s top three, you ain’t leaving it.Bronx Zoo

I actually kinda agree. Omaha looks a lot more cool.Have you visited the other two facilities? As I have previously seen, you have not visited Toronto. The habitats in some areas are in need of a touch-up, but those are coming with the new masterplan. Other than the few rough habitats, I don't really see any reason to call it "overrated" per se, but that might just be me.
