Toronto Zoo Tundra Trek - Members Preview Nights

I know! Count down awaits! 14 days till public opening!
 
I am sure it will be crowded! Polar bears havn't been here in almost 3 years.
 
The 28th and 29th are actually the staff and VIP preview nights ... there is food and drink involved, and thus the area is being cordoned off from regular guests.
 
I wanna become a V.I.P! When and how are the animals moving Ungulate?

How would one become VIP status at the zoo? Would that be by donating money?
 
It might have something to do with donations or even big affiliations with the zoo to, such as the construction workers maybe? Or even celebrities?
 
LOL ... I'm sure we'd all like to be VIPs! I think the VIP night is for city councillors, major donors, and other "powers-that-be". I'm not sure how much you have to give to become a true VIP ...
 
Too bad, I would love to be a V.I.P. Ungulate, do you know when the animals are scedualed to move into their new homes, and how they are moving them? Is Inukshuk still in the Animal Health Centre? I know the reindeer are being walked over, the snowy owls and arctic fox probably crated and carried over. What about the arctic wolves?
 
Ungulate said in a previous post that the arctic wolves would most likely be sedated for the shipment as crate training them would be difficult
 
Thanks Zoogoer. Inukshuk is the only other animal (besides the two female bears) to have been moved into the new complex. No date has been announced for the rest of the moves, but they are probably waiting for the construction to wrap up.

As of Thursday, there is no Arctic fox exhibit, so don't expect to see them on opening day.
 
Why isn't the arctic fox exhibit finished? That is a major dissapointment!
 
It's not that it isn't finished, it's that they've hardly started. The site where it is shown on the map has nothing but a bulldozer sitting on it.
 
See that is ridiculous. They should have everything done before opening or not say that they will be in the exhibit.Then build it after instead of leading the public on!
 
I've never visited, but based on the many news stories over the past few years, this just seems like "business as usual" for the dysfunctional management of the Toronto Zoo. Am I wrong?
 
The arctic fox exhibit has nothing to do with the management of the Toronto Zoo. That has to do with not having the exhibit complete on time because either the construction slowed or something changed.

The projects has been underway for almost 2.5 years which means it should be finished!
