Exotic mammals at each Australian zoo

Using a combination of ISIS, Zoochat comments and gallery photos and zoo websites, I've attempted to compile a list of which species of primates are at which Australian zoos. This is what I have come up with. I don't think that it's comprehensive, and I have doubts about a few of my attempts at identifying species from photos with some of the smaller parks that don't report to ISIS. I don't know the different macaque or capuchin species that well!

I'd welcome any corrections or additions that people can contribute. I also intend to compile lists for carnivorans and ungulates at some point.

Hunter Valley have more than just pigtails(if at all) I'll have to double check but I think they have Rhesus and Crabbies aswell as Spiders and Common Marmosets.

Gorge have both Black Capped Capuchin and White Fronted ones.

And the Spider Monkeys ar Billabong Sanctuary in Port Mac.

The Parrot Garden in Murwillumbah in northern NSW has Common Marmosets aswell.

@CGSwans: I'd like to congratulate you on compiling what is an impressive-looking list of primates, especially as it probably took you a long time to gather all of the information.:) Melbourne Zoo's primate collection is amazing, but of course not all of those species are on public display and are instead off-exhibit in various holding areas.

You can add:

Alma Park Zoo -
Rhesus Macaque

Cairns Wildlife Safari Reserve -
Japanese Macaque
Sulawesi Macaque

Halls Gap Zoo -
White-fronted Capuchin
Black-handed Spider-monkey

Gorge Wildlife Park -
Common Marmoset
Cotton-top Tamarin
Black-handed Spider-monkey
Japanese Macaque

:)

Do melbourne really have loris? are there plans for them?

and i would really like to see a list of off display animals that the zoos have!

Well done CGS

Can I get a mod to change the title of this thread to "Exotic mammals at each Australian zoo"?

Here is my list of members of the order Carnivora. Again, I welcome any corrections or additions people can provide. I have gone only to the species level (I can't be bothered unravelling which tigers or leopards at some of the smaller parks belong to which sub-species), and I have excluded dingoes from the list, as they serve as native species in Australia and it would make the list far too much work to track down which small native wildlife parks have them.

Melbourne Zoo comes out top again, albeit with the help of a few phase-out species.

Gorge also have fishing cats. And i don't believe they have the puma anymore.

Well done and thank-you for both lists. :)

I also think Mansfield Zoo has a crab-eating macaque.

And dingos?:D

Crocodylus Park don't have Leopards.

Sorry to have left this thread for so long.

@MRJ, as noted above, I have excluded dingoes from the list due to the sheer number of native wildlife parks that would have dingoes and no other species.

Fair enough, too. But it would be interesting to note those zoos that no longer have dingoes, Melbourne for some time for instance, and recently also Taronga I believe.
