I was more thinking along the lines of what new exhibits/species people wanted to go and see that are really happening as opposed to what rightfully we should be able to see, but I like it!
I'd ideally like to see some more babirusa, malayan tapir, okapi and gaur births this year....
I'd like to see Bristol increase their flock of Blue Penguins from 1.
I'd like to see Edinburgh have some King penguin/Rockhopper chicks this year, and for Drusillas/Belfast to breed Rockhoppers.
Also like to see a UK collection attempt to keep great apes in a space with natural trees they have access to, unless there is already a collection I don't know about (Blair drummond?)
I'd like Wildwood to open their long-planned 'wild wood' for 'recreated' aurochs and tarpan....
I'd like to see a safe, successful elephant birth at colchester, and Black Rhino/ Asian elephant pregnancies announced at chester.
I'd like to see Pygmy tree shrews return to a UK collection.....and for the lone giant otter at the Chestnut centre to get an unrelated mate of breeding age...
As for reality(!), my priorities for this year are to see the Rare Species Conservation Centre (preferably once tree kangaroos and smooth-coated otters arrive), Highland Wildlife Park (tho I'll wait if they announce musk ox are due, in my dreams!), and the new Orang exhibit at colchester zoo. I would also like to see the tapir calf at Port Lympne once it is a little older.
