Bronx Zoo Bronx Zoo 2012

Does anyone know what happened to the lions cubs from the previous yrs also is one of the female gorillas in the first troop on exhibit pregnant?

The lion cubs from 2010 are still supposedely there. Moxie from 2009 is at Honolulu. I have no idea if a gorilla's pregnant, but hopefully.

The adult lions were the only ones on exhibit today maybe rotating now. The gorilla definitely looked pregnant but one can never be sure

For the lions, how many did you see? The cubs are almost identical to their parents now except for the males.
Most older female gorillas have pot-bellies, so the female you saw was most likely not pregnant.

-After my visit today, I found out that what I had been suspecting was true! The "renovations" going on at the old Asian elephant exhibit were, in fact, for the white rhinoceros pair the Zoo acquired fairly recently. The two were out in their yard today, play-fighting, wallowing in their moderately-sized mud pit, and running about. It was great seeing them finally get some fresh air. :)

-Once again, a number of changes occurred in the World of Birds and Aquatic Bird House; I will try to name some of those later on.

-The maleo were not on exhibit in the World of Birds. Not sure why.

-There are no longer snowy owls in the Birds of Prey exhibit.

-A lesser adjutant stork gave birth to two chicks (one male, one female) recently. I was able to see them being fed by their parents (presumably) in their exhibit today. The female was born on June 22nd, not sure of the male's birthdate.

Greater Madagascar Hognose Snakes have hatched.
A Common Squirrel Monkey was born a few weeks ago. This is the first Squirrel monkey birth since they were moved to an outdoor exhibit in the Children's Zoo after the Monkey House closed.

Like I said, not sure why they uploaded this today. They've been out on exhibit at the Zoo Center for more than a month.

WCS doesn't exactly reveal a whole lot to the public. In fact, the Bronx never really mentioned the rhinos until now, when they arrived almost a year ago!

Exactly! The white rhinos don't even have an animal profile page either, and they're pretty significant since they haven't been at the zoo for over 30 years!

Few animals have profile pages when you think about it; White Rhinos, Spotted Hyenas, Inca Terns, Gaur, Malayan Tapir, False Gharial, White-Cheeked Gibbons, Lowland Nyala, Leopard, and so much more.

Like I said to zoomaniac on the rhino exhibit thread, the Bronx Zoo's (or really, all of the WCS's parks) website is one of the least informative.
