Okay, I'm trying to catch up on some animals I'm interested in. So clouded leopards left the zoo and were replaced by Amur leopards. Are the Amur leopards still there? Is there still a binturong in the nocturnal house?

I received an email that Heart of Africa is closing November 2nd for the season. This what bothers me about the Columbus Zoo. I know it's colder weather, but I've been to other zoos where you can still walk the pathways and there's a slim chance you may see an animal out. Along with this, parts of the Islands are closed off during the winter as well. It's just sort of sad they open up a new exhibit and it will be closed 4-5 months each year.
This is what really sets the 2 San Diego parks apart from many other American zoos. In San Diego you can visit either the zoo or safari park on any day of the year and get the same basic tour. With many other great zoos (Omaha, Bronx, Columbus, Saint Louis and others) it can be a very different experience for several months of the year.
