Fantastic newshopefully the PLC pair will breed as the Tierpark pair have done, and thus help secure the European population a little more.
Are they also fresh imports?

Visited today.
The two female 'step' sister Cheetahs are in fact half sisters with the same father. They were born in the UK 2 years ago, went to the Czech Republic then returned back here. Not sure what UK zoo they originally came from though(anybody on here know?). The Zoo has them as company for there male Dave, he can't be bred due to a inheritable genetic deformity and he's quite old. When he passes they may move the females on or get a younger male in.
Construction going on several areas. The planned Grey Wolf and Hyena enclosures are being built up now. The Zoo has new signs/maps dotted around the zoo, all have these new enclosures on them But with the Grey Wolves being for 2015 and The Hyenas may be Summer 2015 or not until 2016, depending on funds.
Palawan Leopard cats are on show but mostly hiding out of sight in their house. A keeper said they are getting on well... So there may be Kittens in the near future, have to wait and see...
Visited today. Quite a lot of construction work going on at present. Future Wolf and Hyena Enclosures are being built. Grey owls off show and their aviary has been demolished to clear way for paths around the Hyena enclosure. New pathway over future Wolf enclosure. Solar panels been put up to save on electricity bills by 50% I believe.
Wolf species not sure yet, Possibly Iberian.
Hyena's will most likely be Spotted.
Potentially exhibiting Wolverines in the future.
Ocelot and Grey Owls off show until new exhibits can be built for them.
Red ruffed lemurs have departed. Their enclosure has been expanded and will soon hopefully hold Golden Cheeked Gibbons.
