This is the site concept for the zoo, made once the site had been selected but before construction started. The "Phase 2" sections never did come to fruition, but the rest of the site is fairly recognizable.

This was produced in 1924, 2 years after the zoo opened... There was been one expansion into the southern area below this map... The area marked plantation is still such and no exhibits are in this area, however the zoo's new exhibit opening in 2009 - 2010, Te Wao Nui will encroach...
