A narwhal is as unlikely to be seen in a zoo as a humpback whale... Anyway is not stated in the thread that they must be captive animals. And then a humpback is relatively easy to see (if you're enough rich to travel to the feeding areas)

Okay since it has to be in captivity, here is my revised list:
  1. Aye-aye
  2. Bush dog
  3. Goblin shark (unlikely but I know some Japanese aquarium occasionally temporarily house this species)
  4. Lammergeier
  5. Kiwi
  6. Raccoon dog
  7. Pangolin
  8. Platypus
  9. Sumatran rhino (is it even possible for a tourist to visit the Sumatra Rhino Sanctuary?)
  10. Tree kangaroo
 
Revised list (in no particular order)
1. Chimpanzee
2. Aye-aye
3. Gharial
4. Giant otter
5. Echidna
6. Chinese giant salamander
7. Blue penguin
8. Kiwi
9. Great hammerhead shark
10. Harpy eagle

I haven't seen your first three, but I have all the others (in fact I've seen five of those seven in the wild [and in captivity]).

Now six, I saw five of them in Japan .;)
Aye-aye in Ueno, Bush dog in Kyoto, Kiwi in Tennoji, Raccoon dog in every Japanese zoo, Pangolin in Ueno and Tree Kangaroo in Singapore.

In fact, you should visit Japan! Zoorasia have tree kangaroo and Nihondaira Zoo have Lammergeier, and on some occasions an aquarium will have goblin shark.

I'd love to go someday, unfortunately, as a high schooler, I don't currently have the funds to drop everything and take a flight across the Pacific. Hopefully someday though!
