Are These in Captivity? #2

Sydney funnel Web Right Here at Taronga Sydney
Giant weta i think is at Auckland
No Gippsland earthworm
Taronga Zoo Marbled Scorpion
I was asking for AZA and EAZA captivity but thanks anyway. I know that earthworms are hard to keep in captivity and there's no need for them.

Are these in captivity in AZA and/or EAZA captivity?
  1. Venezuelan Poodle Moth
  2. Giant Weta
  3. Purple Frog
  4. Any species of firefly
  5. Congo Dwarf Crocodile
  6. Chilobrachys natanicharum
  7. Brookesia nana
  8. Sydney Funnel-Web Spider
  9. Australian Marbled Scorpion
  10. Giant Gippsland Earthworm
Little barrier giant weta (D. heteracantha) are housed at Auckland Zoo and Butterfly Creek, Mahoenui Giant weta (D.mahoenui) are kept off display at the Otorohanga kiwi house, and i think some other facilties may house the Cook Strait giant wētā (D.rugosa)

Does anyone keep Australian Termites?
Reticulitermes speratus are found at Tama Zoo. Zoo Basel has some Macrotermes species. Audubon Insectarium has Formosan Subterranean Termite and Native Subterranean Termite. ABQ BUGarium has Pacific Dampwood Termite. Tierpark Dahlholzli has some species of African termite

Red Squirrels kept In Zoos other than prevost i really can't think of any other captive species except for the Squirrels that are at Taronga.
I really want to see the Red Squirrel with tufted ears. I think it's cheaper for me to visit a US Zoo than European zoo to see one

Well, if Zootierliste is anything to go by, Red squirrels are way more common in European captivity than in American facilities.

British red squirrel - 19 facilities (All in the UK)
Central European red squirrel - 72 facilities (All in Europe)
Costa Rica variegated squirrel - 5 facilities (4 in Germany, 1 in the US)
Eastern grey squirrel - 12 facilities (5 in Europe, 7 in the US)
Eurasian red squirrel - 27 facilities (All in Europe)
Fox squirrel - 4 facilities (All in the US)
Japanese squirrel - 10 facilities (All in Europe)
Pyrenean red squirrel - 6 facilities (All in Europe)
Red squirrel - 62 facilities (60 in Europe, 2 in the US)
Red-flanked variegated squirrel - 8 facilities (All in Europe)
Siberian red squirrel - 7 facilities (All in Europe)

Of course, the US isn't nearly as up-to-date as Europe in ZTL, and most squirrels are held in very small facilities that aren't exactly worth a visit
