I saw this earlier today. Got an email alert from Audubon about a tragedy at the zoo and immediately thought the worst. Fortunately the zoo was closed. The Washington Post described it as a "territorial killing rampage". I'd hardly call it a "rampage".
If there's a silver lining, Valerio had a fantastic day.
I don’t really think thats a funny joke or statement. When an animal is in a zoo it is assumed to he safe and protected. Freak accidents such as coyote getting in do happen, but thats still a tragic event for any zoo. Yes I am sure the Jaguar enjoyed the adventure. Yet just picture how the keepers of the dead and injured animals feel. Often these animals feel like part of their family. Just glad no one got hurt and that the cat is back confined, and not shot dead (which I am sure was on the table).
