I don’t really think thats a funny joke or statement. When an animal is in a zoo it is assumed to he safe and protected. Freak accidents such as coyote getting in do happen, but thats still a tragic event for any zoo. Yes I am sure the Jaguar enjoyed the adventure. Yet just picture how the keepers of the dead and injured animals feel. Often these animals feel like part of their family. Just glad no one got hurt and that the cat is back confined, and not shot dead (which I am sure was on the table).

Very sad news, I suspect the jaguar was out of its habitat for a long period of time since the animals that it attacked were spread out in different areas of the zoo. My current red fox avatar is one of the animals attacked, perhaps the fox that was killed. :(

I was wondering about the same thing but zoo officials seem to think that he was out an hour or so. The alpacas are right next to the jaguar exhibit but the emus and foxes are on opposite sections of the zoo, far separated from each other with the jaguars roughly halfway between the two. One possibility that I’ve considered is that the jaguar may have wandered down a keeper path behind the alpacas which would have led directly to the emus. As far as the foxes are concerned, I have no clue what happened.

CBS news was reporting that he was now being held in the night house, so maybe he was was in the main exhibit. Unless he was in an extra off exhibit yard. Anyways this demonstrates the dangers in leaving carnivores outdoors overnight at zoos. I know we all want them to have as much room as possible for as much time as possible, but it can be a dangerous situation in the event of a storm for example.
 
So 8 dead now :( I haven't been to the zoo so don't know the set up, fences, etc beyond the map and photos, but to me it's interesting that he really went to town on the alpacas and red foxes, only touched one emu, and didn't go near other animals that appear to be nearby and would be easy access.

Misguided and uninformed as they might be, I couldn't help being struck by this organization's motto:

"Unleash your green monster."

I have a green monster? What is its name? What will it do if I unleash it? How do I unleash it? I don't know what to do with this information...

The green monster they are talking about unleashing is a kale smoothie with bitter melons... *shudders*
Kidding aside, there are legitimately good vegetable dishes in Indian/Bangla cooking, (they are good because they focus on flavor first and health value second, not vice versa) and collard greens (if done right) taste unbelievably amazing.
