The zoo will be receiving a (0.1) Masai Giraffe named Tisa from the Virginia Zoo in early November.
I didn't realize the zoo was that old. That's about the same time as the "new zoo" opened in Lowry Park/Tampa.. She was one of the oldest animals at the zoo having lived their since the zoos opening in 1994
Anyone know which zoo/aquarium he came from?the zoo has received a 1.0 White-Blotched River Stingray as a SSP transfer. He is now on exhibit at Rainforest Revealed
The new Okapi is a male named George, he comes from the Brookfield Zoo and while there are no plans to aquire a female for him, the move was still SSP related as it allows his mom to breed againlooks like Okapis are coming soon to Brevard Zoo!
He was re-named after the long-term director of the Brookfield Zoo, but he is not from the Brookfield Zoo. The animal is from Disney and was formerly named “Beni”.The new Okapi is a male named George, he comes from the Brookfield Zoo and while there are no plans to aquire a female for him, the move was still SSP related as it allows his mom to breed again
