It kind of annoys me when I see House Mice in the exhibits in World of Birds and in the now-closed Monkey House.

emperor tamarin one would suspect
I thought that but wanted confirmation. If baboon is refering to Emperor Tamarins then I have not seen them since the Monkey House closed down.

They're in the Ocellated Turkey/Malayan Great Argus enclosure on the second floor. There was a net covering it. The monkeys have been spread around the zoo. Some have left the collection though some have been sent to World of Birds and the Children's Zoo (Common Squirrel Monkey). Many of the remaining monkeys are in outdoor enclosures on the side of the Mouse House though I've yet to visit on a day when they were out since the Monkey House closed so couldn't tell you what's in there. What are the two tamarin species in World of Birds, anyway? Golden Lion and what? And what's a "King Tamarin"? The White-Throated Capuchins are actually in a very hard to notcie enclosure behind the Monkey House facing the Pere David's Deer. I found it completely by accident and only because I was participating in a run at the zoo where you ran past the enclosure.
To answer your other question, the cloud rats should still be on exhibit in the Mouse House. Did you take a pic of the small rat in the exhibit?

Yes, I have made a spell mistake, it should be emperor tamarin. I have seen golden lion tamarin and golden-head lion tamarin in Word of Birds.
According to the Bronx Zoo's Facebook, a Chestnut-breasted Malkoha went on exhibit in the World of Birds.

Well, the malkohas have been on exhibit since at least October 2012, so maybe it's just a new individual?
Well, the Bronx Zoo's web pages have always been late/slightly uninformative.
Thylacine and Anaheim- I had no idea that the malkohas were on exhibit already, so I think now I should never rely on info about "new" species. After all, it did take around 8 months to say that White Rhinos were at the zoo.

For the contest I voted for Baryonyx as oppose to the famous Triceratops, Tyrannosaurus rex, and Brachiosaurus. I'm a bit disappointed that they included Quetzalcoatlus.

Yeah, the malkohas have been around a while. Of course, 75% of the Bronx Zoo's animal species aren't listed on their website, so we can't really expect anything informative out of them.
And I'm not trying to take anything away from Thylo here; I could've told you all sooner about the newer additions (Von der Decken's hornbills in the Carter Giraffe Building, etc.), almost immediately after all of my visits, but I just get lazy sometimes.
On a side note, is anyone actually excited for the Dinosaur Safari? I don't want to sound like I'm already putting it down, but when the website mentioned some sort of safari adventure last year, I was expecting an exhibit similar to Madagascar! I wasn't necessarily expecting an exhibit of Madagascar!'s quality, just an exhibit with a similar concept.

I would say it's way more than 75%. Have the hornbills been there a while? I went into the Carter Giraffe House in February and I didn't see them nor signs for them.
I suppose I'm looking forward to it more or less because it'll make some money for the zoo and also because they're going to put it in an area currently composed of run-down, over-grown enclosures. I probably won't visit but still.~Thylo
While probably more expensive, the zoo should have done what seems to be the other temporary exhibit sweeping the nation this summer besides dinos; Australia. Australian fauna is under-represented at the zoo (although they have wallabies at the Children's Zoo, correct?), and they probably could have done several basic but effective enclosures featuring Australian fauna.

- The prospect park zoo is now focusing on australian species so the bronx will not infringe on that. The bronx is actually doing alot more with the dinosaurs than most zoos. The are including many different activities and linking it to endangered wildife. Right now the bronx is building a small exhibit in zoo center which is at lesst something new. The aquarium was also just destoyed so they will recieve most of the money to rebuild and complete the expand.
As uszoo said, they will not infringe on Australian wildlife as that's Prospect Park's thing and they do a pretty great job. Yes there are Red-Necked Wallabies in the Children's Zoo and there are a few other Australian species (like Laughing Kookaburra in World of Birds) throughout the zoo. Also as uszoo said, the zoo is going beyond just robosaurs, they're having interactive activities, a safari ride (which is where you'll see the robosaurs), I think are given reptile shows during the event (though they should be doing bird shows, too), and the new giant reptiles (Komodo Dragon and Aldabra Giant Tortoise) exhibits will open towards the end of the event.

We now have conformation that the new exhibits in zoo center will be for Komodo Dragons and Aldabra Tortoises. The exhibit will open this fall but you cannot see the tortosies until next spring. I cannot wait, so I guess there will be an outdoor habitat for both species but only an indoor exhibit for the Komodo's. Maybe there will be a few suprise species. Also below is an article about the dinosaur safari exhibit and I must say the bronx did a nice job planting the area so it looks really cool. Hope to be there this weekend. \

I'm sorry, I'm confused. How can the exhibit be open if the animals can't be seen yet? Or do you mean there's an indoor viewing? If so, I suppose this means the Amazing Amphibians exhibit is now gone.

Thanks. Amazing Amphibians has been removed thank god. I never liked it as it took away from the orignal character of the building. There may be other smaller displays in the new area. I believe this means that only the komodo dragons will have indoor viewing. The will also have an outdoor exhibit most likely. The other outdoor exhibit will hold the tortoises who I believe will not have indoor viewing. So if the exhibit opens in fall it will be to cold to have the tortoises outside.
I liked Amazing Amphibians, but I think it needed a bit more work. It was my understanding that it was to educate about endangered amphibians as well as a place to display the zoo's amphibian collection but I think it needed more immersive stuff and more conservation aspects.
