Neither enclosure is occupied, sloths is almost ready, very little evidence of work on the new anteater enclosure. There will be no new mammals species arriving at the zoo for the moment.
No new mammals that's a shame it would have been a nice touch a small cat or canid species even a small ungulate a new gazelle species perhaps but I suppose we will just have to wait and see what we get really

Aha yes I have just read the entire thread though I am new here I had no idea it existed so I apologise for reopening the can of worms. I think we all have different hopes for what we want to see in the collection but we have no choice at the end of the day we just watch idol as species will come and go like the Serval such a lovely little species I only saw once when I visited in late summer last year but the doors are wide open for a number of fabulous species chester will no doubt care for and do great justice to what ever species will take the enclosure.

Also may I add I've read each thread from this year you are all so nice and well informed! I hope to get to know you well across the later months of this year and into the 2017 season!

I can't think of a lower vertebrate that could be housed their but their is the opportunity perhaps for emu or some form of flightless bird can secretary birds fly? Either way we will just have to wait and see

Alright then I think that's enough of that we just have to wait and see now

The wait will be worth it,but then again the plan could change between now and then,as you never know what the zoo my get offered between now and then, but what you have to remember is that a species could arrive and go off-show for over a year until a suitable area becomes free for example the Aye-aye!

Exactly lets not forget the Luzon cloud rats, Naked mole rats and a few other species really apply to that ;);)

The death occurred on Friday and was caused by a back injury inflicted by another member of the zebra heard to sum it up
In other news ACT FOR WILDLIFE run by Chester has posted about a new species of carnivora plant the zoo's botany team are now working with Nepenthes rigidifolia as well as an article on working with crocodiles

Hey guys just a quick question when are you next visiting the zoo if so could you do me a favor that would help all of us here in my opinion?

Depends what it is :p I shall hopefully be visiting the collection in a fortnight or so.
