A planning application has now been placed on the local councils website for the walk through, also details what parts of the zoo will be in each area, includes a lot of the land originally marked down for the bio dome.

I'm more excited at the mentioning of Fossa.

The plans show, an area that Is currently the quarantine area and barn, being used for conservation in action, and was mentioned as being used to hold species whilst the zoo is developed. I wonder how this part will be accessed once it's open to the public.

Don't take that part of the plan without the biggest grain of salt imaginable. It may happen exactly like that, but I'd lay a pound to a penny that it won't. And even if it does, the phrase 'conservation in action' is pretty vague: it might mean 'not on show' or CCTV only, like the Scottish wild cats used to be.

Are they going to demolish the old polar bear wall from the aviary?
At first glance it looks to me as if that will go. That area looks to be close to the path between the fossa enclosure and the first lemur enclosure, which leads to and from the lemur walk-through, so I don't think that a wall would be appropriate there.

The impression given at the AGM was that it will be open to the public in the long term.
