Back to the condors, they were the same pair that were kept on the north bank of the canal for many years. They hatched thirteen chicks, of which 11 were reared. The female was sent to a retirement home in 2016.

One of the male chicks from 1987 was sent down to Chessington the following year
The other male from 1987 went to Welsh Mountain
Two of the Bongo have moved south to Folly Farm

Anyone know what happened to the American Vulture that shared with the condors?
-The 2 young Lowland Anoas have been moved into the Congo Buffalo indoor area where the Malayan Tapir used to be.
two interesting observations here. Wonder if the magpies are Asian azure-winged, or if Chester have acquired the Iberian species too?Azure-winged Magpie are also now in this aviary.
-The Schalow’s Turaco are now in the Wetlands aviary.
The cattle house does not feature in the zoo's long-term plans.
5 spiny-headed tree frogs (Anotheca spinosa) are in the first viv in Monsoon Forest, they were placed in there about two weeks ago. Tadpoles from this species can be seen in the pond.
The male Bornean river turtle (Ortilia borneensis) is currently living with the Burmese brown tortoises, to give the females a rest from him.
They are! We only noticed them as I was trying to find the Fischer's turaco in the Tsavo aviary, and gentle lemur managed to spot a turaco fly by behind me. Turned around and saw not a Fischer's, but a Schalow's atop the frame of a keeper's access gate into the Wetlands next door! They also aren't signed so you really have to keep your eyes peeled to see them.You'd think the turacos would be lost in that enormous aviary!
