Chester Zoo Game

so for my round I want to specify that answers must be accompanied by the reasoning behind the answer. No blind guesses. You have to be able to explain it, otherwise I have no idea how close people are to the correct answer.

Here's the riddle:

You cannot do this to this animal.

Blue legged mantella as the scientific name is Mantella expectata, so thus you can't expect to see it?
I like that thinking! But sadly, not the correct answer.

(A little hint, because it may be difficult, the answer is to do with the common name and not the scientific name).

Congo Buffalo (Syncerus caffer nanus), which one may argue cannot be intimidated - presuming you are thinking of the little-used term "to buffalo" as a synonym for intimidation or deception, as found in the famous phrase "Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo"

interesting...

Unfortunately the term "to buffalo" is so little-known by myself that I do not know it at all. The phrase, also, was not famous enough for me to have heard of it! (I googled it though).

So, not the correct answer I'm afraid.

To be fair, *I* only know the term because of its use in that phrase :p and I only know the phrase because it is a linguistic curiosity.

A very simplistic approach to the riddle, but I'm sure there'll be some Chester zoo rule stating you can't hammer the head of a hamerkop (Scopus umbretta)?

not the correct answer, but you do indeed have the right simplistic approach to the riddle.

Razorfish? Based on similar reasoning to Anton and that you can't/aren't allowed to cut a fish with a razor

Edit: and also that you can't shave a fish

not the correct answer, but again the right line of thought (i.e. especially the method of reasoning given in the edit).

I guess it would be possible to poison a poison dart frog, but you cannot falsify a false gharial when it is one...
