Dubbo Zoos Onagers are quite old now is there anymore in the country?
Persian Onager (Equus hemionus onager) – two males at Western Plains Zoo
The remnant animals in Australia (now just two males) are descended from eight animals, these being 2.2 from Rotterdam Zoo (Netherlands) in 1979, and 1.3 from the USA in 1982. [I have seen several different versions of these numbers and dates - the ones I give were from an article released by the zoo itself]. The last female died in 2021.

@Babirusa advised Capybara aren’t allowed in Victorian zoos.
I also found this document regarding prohibited species, which may be of interest:
https://agriculture.vic.gov.au/__da...4/538150/declared-prohibited-pest-animals.pdf
Out of curiosity, are there similar documents that detail exotic animal restrictions in South Australia?
The best I’ve found so far is a List of Declared Species (which covers exotics found in Australian zoos):

It was closed when I went last Saturday (big surprise). Just another empty space at Taronga Zoo.does any one know where they went and what occupies their exhibit now ?
