The zoo has anounced that they are expecting an elephant birth in late January/early February.

Should bring the size of the herd to 8. Alpha male Thai, 3 adult cows, 1 juvenile male who may be getting a little big at this point, 2 other babies who I think are around 2 now and this new one.

Actually the juvenile bull, Bodhi, has been sent to the Denver Zoo already so there is a little more room.

Woops! I got Tucker mixed up with Bodhi from Columbus. I guess Tucker is stilll there so things will be a little more cramped. Though while trying to research Tucker I found out that on the day of New Year's Eve, the zoo welcomed a baby Debraza's monkey.

A male Masai Giraffe calf was born Feb 4 to mom Tyra. Hes now on exhibit with the herd.

Its a boy! Shanti gave birth this morning to 385 lbs Duncan. He will be off exhibit in the barn for a few days bonding with mom before making his debut.

It looks like a decent amount of space, but I'm not a fan of the short grass and lack of plantings. A deeper water area would also have been nice.

6 mongooses on Mar 24th. They haven't made it out of the exhibit area into public space but two are still on the loose.
