To bump an old but interesting thread.... I'm now up to 331 (300, a couple of years ago, was Gorlitz Tierpark in eastern Germany - not exactly the San Diego Wild Animal Park, but very nice nonetheless). Even with a few more due next month, tied in with Zoohistorica in Stuttgart, I fear that my rate of addition is rather paltry compared to some! In part this is because Other Things steal time, sadly. In part because I would rather go and spend some more time at, say, Antwerp Zoo rather than "doing" lots of smaller places I've not yet seen: while I'm sure an East Coast trip of the Parrot Zoo, Skegness, Mablethorpe and Sewerby Hall would be lovely, a return trip to Artis or Prague or wherever would be lovelier!

I know Tim Brown is closing in on 700 (or so he says!). How many are others sitting on?

Well ,were it not for the fact that Sooty is a good friend(do I really have to call him that? Internet "etiquette" can be tiresome),I could actually be insulted that he doubts my word..what would be the point of lying? Upon pointing out that they`re all in a notebook,he made the point that it doesn't count unless I type them all out in chronological order! Noah's Lost Ark- big cat (and other animals too!) sanctuary in Berlin Center, Ohio, another Podunk town.
Wagontrails Animal Park- like a safari park, but you go on a safari truck to feed dromedaries, deer, bison, etc. In Vienna, OH, near Warren.
31 zoos- yes 31!

I think I have been to 72. There are many more I would like to see but I don't have the opportunity to get to new places very often. the first zoo I went to is almost certainly Chester Zoo and the most recent new visit is Odense Zoo which was in 2014.

I don't keep a list, but I was asked to plot my visited zoos on a map last year by a friend. Going on this, Zoorasia on Thursday was my 300th collection. (But I'd thought I hit number 300 in 2013!)

There are a lot of Asian countries in there for some reason...
