Little Rock Zoo on Instagram: "Meet our newest additions to the Little Rock Zoo, Bush Dogs - Paku and Luz! These dogs were imported from accredited zoos in France to be a breeding pair. Currently, Bush Dogs are uncommon in US zoos, so we are hoping to be able to grow a genetically healthy population with this new pair. They are a wild canid species native to South America and live in packs. They have webbed toes and are very comfortable in water. They can live in dense vegetation in the wild, and are very vocal with each other to be able to communicate when visibility might be poor. Visitors might be able to observe our dogs scent marking- they often can be seen standing on their front legs while lifting their hind end up as high as they can go while marking, almost like doing a handstand. They are both adjusting to their new surroundings and keepers well. The female, Luz, is definitely braver than the male, Paku, so fer, as he tends to follow her around when exploring their exhibit. On February 5th, the zoo announced the colobus's gender, female (0.1), and name, Jini (Swahili for fairy/sprite).

On August 27th, the zoo announced they sexed the colobus as (1m.0), with the monkey later named Kito (Swahili for child/gem).
