@michaelarthur How are things at the Little Rock Zoo these days? Have they announced any new exhibits or added or subtracted any interesting species?
Malayan Pitvipers were taken off exhibit as of my last several visits throughout 2018. There was some form of exhibit renovation/construction in the reptile house, and upon my last visit in late 2018, Phillipene Pitvipers had been added on exhibit. I also noticed the addition of African Black Ducks, Indian Spot-billed Ducks, Spotted Whistling Ducks, and a West Indian Whistling Duck, all in the large waterfowl pond. It is possible some of these ducks have been at the zoo longer, I just didn't see them on my visits. None of these ducks were signed when I went.@michaelarthur How are things at the Little Rock Zoo these days? Have they announced any new exhibits or added or subtracted any interesting species?
I know Arkansas is not quite the richest zoo, but it sure as hell will not raise income nor improve the visitor experienceThe board of directors for the city of Little Rock have approved budget cuts for FY2019 that will affect zoo operations. The zoo will now close on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Noverember to March.

I dare not think about the consequences! Do not tell me it is mere downsizing or costcutting - hence visionless bulloney-!!!Task force announced to determine future of Little Rock Zoo.

Really? It sounds very promising with the city-owned golf course next door being closed.I dare not think about the consequences! Do not tell me it is mere downsizing or costcutting - hence visionless bulloney-!!!
@gerenuk: Sorry, perhaps I misinterpreted this one with the previous postings in mind on the understanding of a costcutting exercise by City Council and closing the zoo 2 days a week.Really? It sounds very promising with the city-owned golf course next door being closed.
Little rock has a new website Little Rock Zoo. Can anyone name this species they misidentified as American kestrel. I think it's a Mississippi kite. Birds | Little Rock Zoo. In bad news, it appears they no longer exhibit Talapoins.
