On January 9th, 2023, the zoo announced that a (0.1) sloth bear named Zaara will be transferred to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo in California in the near future. The last time Zaara will be on exhibit is January 16th.

On January 11th, the zoo announced that due to bad weather in California, the transfer has been delayed and Zaara will still be on exhibit until the end of January.

As I have discussed in the North American and Global challenge threads, I visited the Little Rock Zoo on Friday, February 17th, and they have recently received a group of Sakishima grass lizards from the Dallas Zoo. The lizards are not on exhibit yet, but the terrarium is ready and signed. Little Rock will be only the second facility to display this species in North America.
 
The zoo has recently welcomed two male eastern white-bearded wildebeest from an undisclosed facility in Texas. The wildebeest are now on display alongside the zoo's Grant's zebras and ostriches.
 
On July 25th, it was reported that the zoo acquired a (0.1) Hoffmann's two-toed sloth named Almond from the Topeka Zoo in Kansas, and is now on exhibit.

On August 21st, it was announced that the zoo transferred a (0.1) North American river otter named Sunshine to the Tennessee Aquarium in Tennessee.

I visited the zoo yesterday. As mentioned earlier in this board, the small carnivore complex was closed. I discovered that you can still see the front-facing exhibits facing Cafe Africa. The animals still exhibited there are two separate exhibits for the grey and red foxes, one each for the fossa and yellow-backed duiker. The first exhibit that held the caracal you can still go up and see but there is a sign saying it is empty. Also to note is that the caracal has replaced the new serval exhibit that was built a few years ago. All signage of servals was replaced with caracal info and I was able to snap a few pictures of the caracal inhabiting it.
 
On September 27th, it was announced that the zoo transferred a (0.1) caracal to the Brandywine Zoo in Delaware on July 19th.

On September 28th, the zoo announced that on September 23rd, a wild bat (later tested positive for rabies) was flying erratically on facility grounds, where it was quickly caught and euthanized.

On October 17th, the zoo announced that City Manager Bruce Moore (who ran the facility) passed away at the age of 57.

On December 4th, the zoo announced that they acquired (0.0.2) Egyptian tortoises named Nile and Tut which are now ambassador animals.

Also on December 4th, it was reported that the zoo partnered with KultureCity and is now certified as "sensory-inclusive".

On December 8th, the zoo announced that their other (0.1) grizzly bear named Ann passed away possibly due to heart failure on December 7th.

On February 15th, the zoo announced that they acquired (0.0.2) domestic ferrets named Hagrid and Tonks which are ambassador animals.
