They need to bring in another male even it it’s a loan, as all their AI attempts keep failing and when Ebun arrived she was still on milk, now she must be getting to perfect breeding age!

An ostrich is set to be removed from the park as it thinks it's a zebra.

Do you mean Beta the brother of the young sister Ostriches Alpha and the other one who’s name I have forgotten. It mentioned on Animal Park that he would be moved on too pastures new. I hope that his new home doesn’t have Zebras as that would just fuel his identity crisis again.

Good luck Beta I hope you father chicks and connect better with your new Ostrich friends.

Wherever it is mover I also hope it dosent have zebra.

Just got back from a lovely visit today. Some things to note:
- Coorong the koala has recently passed away due to a kidney failure. This now leaves 2.2
- Ringo the last Coati has recently passed away due to old age
- 1.0 Dik Dik has arrived and is in the old Coati enclosure in Jungle Kingdom, the DikDik house is the old python house opposite the anteaters. A keeper told me they have plans to get a female DikDik. Interestingly all the climbing apparatus left from the coati's was still up.
-1.0 Binturong has arrived to join the female, their outdoor enclosure (shared with otters) has had some slight renovations e.g. more (dead) trees.
- There is a very young Anteater baby- very cute to watch
- 1.0 Fennec Fox has arrived to join the female
- The pancake tortoises are now mixed with the Hyrax
-The Deer Park is now back open (no feeding the deer yet though)

Sad news about Ringo and the koala. They haven't had much luck with their koalas so far but everything crossed for the future.

Are the Dik-Dik a brand new species for the collection? If so fantastic addition. And great news about the other new additions.

Yes - brand new species for Longleat, he's been at the park less than a fortnight yet he looked happy and well!

Announcement from Facebook

⚠️ Following the recent government announcement, we can confirm Longleat is now closed and is due to re-open on Wednesday 2nd December.
During these uncertain and difficult times, we have closed the park to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and to protect our guests, staff and animals.
