birmingham (canon hill park) no longer keep beavers they've replaced them with short clawed otters, although there was a really old small plaque next to their house concerning the beavers (it may of been their donation to the park but i can't remember)

Re post 20 from bongorob , the only African spot-necked otter in the UK that I am aware of was one at the Otter Trust , Earsham , many years ago , I remember seeing it . I assume it is long dead , indeed the Otter Trust has closed its Centres having achieved its aim of helping to re-establish otters in England . Who says that re-introduction of captive-bred carnivores is not worth the effort .

I hope there are some more spot-necked otters out there .

Grant's is the same as the Chapman's. (I think, though this is going by Marwell's claims of keeping all the zebra species')
 
Chapman's and Grant's are both subspecies of the common zebra. colchester and Manor House keep another subspecies, the Damara Zebra.
