Mixed species exhibit ideas

What species of fish can I combine with the greater blue-ringed octopus?

And what species can I combine with the Tasmanian king crab?

With the crab I would say fish that are too small to attempt to eat the crab and fast enough to be not caught by it and given it's a slow-moving species you have quite a few options.

With the octopus I don't know, octopi are some of nature's greatest predators and the blue-ringed octopus is right at the top in terms of how deadly it is thanks to its venom. So personally, I wouldn't house the octopus with other species, even if it isn't the aggressor its venom, of which it carries enough to kill 26 adult humans within minutes, will kill its attacker if it manages to get a bite in. And there is video evidence of octopus (don't remember the species) catching, killing, eating small sharks in an aquarium, so you'd be basically putting a tiger in a goat pen in effect.

Octopus I'd say none that you don't want to be eaten. For king crab you can do most open-swimming fish (so no gobies or blennies) like damselfish or cardinals

Can Gemsbok and Sable Antelope be kept together? They are both in the clade Hippotraginae, so are they capable of hybridization?

Would a walkthrough aviary work out with Black-crowned cranes, African grey parrots, Red-crested turacos, White-faced whistling ducks and Sacred ibises?

But there’s always the risk that the parrots attack the turacos.
And the parrots could attack the whistling ducks if they decide to breed in a tree hole.
And the cranes could attack anything if so minded, including people. Need plenty of nest boxes for ducks and parrots anyway.
The only safe ‘collection’ is one bird in a padded cell. And then it’ll eat the padding and die.

Water Buffalo (Wild Water Buffalo if possible, I think stateside the only type of Water Buffalo is the River Buffalo of the domestic species. I don't even think we have Swamp Buffalo over here.)

Javan Banteng

Personally not fond of the mix of the two larger bovine species. Would probably work with one bovine and the deer, but not both.

Here's a strange one. If I held Lovebirds as free-roamers in hippo stables, would the lovebirds harm the hippos? I usually wouldn't be worried about a bird x hippo mix but parrots do have very strong beaks...

Although lovebirds like to sit on their cohabitants (for example quails) I don’t think the lovebird’s will hurt the hippos, as lovebird’s beaks aren’t stronger than a egret’s beak, which are mixed with hippos and peck them sometimes too.

Would a walkthrough aviary with Victoria crowned pigeons, Chattering lories and Mandarin ducks work out alongside a pond with Koi carp and some other asian fish species, or would any animosities happen? And what other asian bird species could be present in this exhibit?

Also, would a mix with Cockatiels, Coconut lorikeets, Masked lapwings and Gouldian finches work out?

Victoria crowned pigeons, Chattering lories and Mandarin ducks
Should work. Temminck‘s Tragopan, Chinese Bamboo Partridge, Blue-crowned Laughingthrush, Collared Finchbill, Collared Grosbeak, Grosbeak Starling, Chestnut-naped Imperial Pigeon, Falcated Duck, Baer‘s Pochard, Stephan‘s Emerald Dove and Red Collared Dove could be added.
Cockatiels, Coconut lorikeets, Masked lapwings and Gouldian finches
The Coconut Lorikeets and Cockatiels could stress the Gouldian Finch in a too small aviary. In a big enough aviary it would work but the finches should have a separate cage/small aviary for breeding.

Thanks for the suggestions!
