Two chimpanzees (1.1) from Buenos Aires EcoParque have arrived at Monkey World.
Mother and son pair Sasha (F, 24) and Kangoo (M, 15) were originally housed at the old Buenos Aires Zoo, until they were transferred to the EcoParque in 2016 when the zoo was closed. Buenos Aires EcoParque has decided to concentrate on native Argentinian animals, so a new home had to be found for the pair. Sasha and Kangoo are currently in the process of being introduced to Bryan's group, which consists of dominant male Bryan (M, 19), as well as other chimpanzees Ash (F, 17), Lulu (F, 28), Naree (F, 26), and Rodders (M, 17).

Fantastic for that small group and nice to see it being expanded. After Sally’s death it sort of looked like that group might just simply dissipate into nothing but the addition of Naree and now these two with Bryan as Alpha male means it’s really becoming the fourth group for the park.
