On September 8th, the zoo announced that their yellow-backed duiker exhibit has undergone renovations to prepare for some new residents, although the facility declined to state what species it is (I'm guessing from the photos it's red river hog).

On October 4th, the zoo announced that they acquired (2.0) red river hogs named Beni and Togo which are now on exhibit with their yellow-backed duiker.

Also on October 4th, the zoo made a statement about an Iowan TikToker who posted stealing one of the facility's animals. Here is the statement:

It has come to our attention that a TikTok creator from Iowa has posted a film on social media that shows her stealing one of our animals. I want to assure anyone that has seen this, that the film is a fake. Not only was no animal stolen from the zoo, the animal she shows herself leaving with is not an animal that belongs to us.
I don’t know why anyone would think that the staged kidnapping of a zoo animal would be seen as entertainment, but apparently someone does. We take our animals’ health, welfare and safety very seriously.
