On March 21st, the zoo announced that a (0.1) San Clemente Island goat named Alanna passed away the week prior at age 5.

On March 22nd, the zoo announced that a (1.0) fennec fox named Carlos passed away due to oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Also on March 22nd, the zoo announced that a (0.0.1) red-footed tortoise hatched.

On April 17th, it was reported that the zoo acquired (0.0.2) red river hogs which are now on exhibit. It was also reported that the African-painted dog exhibit will open by the end of June, and the prairie dog exhibit will open in early August, with remodels of the big cat and bald eagle exhibits planned in the future.

The zoo also closed down the generic giraffe exhibit and building due to COVID-19 precautions.

Niabi Zoo Celebrates the Birth of Its First African Cape Porcupine

The baby was born on January 7 to our eleven-year-old male Charles and four-year-old female Milele. Both mom and dad have proven to be excellent parents and keep a close watchful eye over their new youngster, who is already starting to take solid food.

On May 29th, the zoo announced its name, Enzi.
