Would it be possible for Singapore Zoo to open an Small mammal/norcturnal house?
They used to have a small mammal house, Critters Longhouse, many years ago that is now the Tortoise Shellter. Some of the animals are still around the parks like the South African ground squirrels, kinkajous, leopard cats and Malayan porcupines. For the nocturnal house, they already have Night Safari…Would it be possible for Singapore Zoo to open an Small mammal/norcturnal house?
i think the red-crowns were with the barasinghas and the sarus were with the chitals
I remember watching a Night Safari Tram Tour video where there at some point there were some "Parrot on Stick" enclosures, I believe the thumbnail was the Red Crowned Crane in the Barasingha enclosure. It was a 2 parter video that I'm very sure I saved into my Mandai playlist but currently I can't find it
I'll be on the search for some other old Tram Tours if I can
Extra Edit: Chiang Mai Night Safari has or at least had Himalayan Griffon Vultures, just to confirm it wasn't them right?
@Zooish do you know what is happening to the Komodo dragon exhibit?
Any idea what happened with the Chinese alligator and the Indian pond turtles at Singapore Zoo?Some small updates:
Stitch the African Dwarf Crocodile is back on display at the former Chinese Alligator/Indian Pond Turtle exhibit. 0.2 Alligator Snapping Turtles have also been added to the exhibit.
The Chinese alligator is kept in one of the pygmy hippo tanks for now and the spotted pond turtles are at River Wonders in the Indian gharial and lion-tailed macaque exhibitsAny idea what happened with the Chinese alligator and the Indian pond turtles at Singapore Zoo?
I only chanced upon it from the ZIMS daily report, I'm not sure of the other detailsIs there an official confirmation for this. How old was he? Did staff take biological specimens including semen off him (for the WAZA GSMP Anoa program)?
@LeMandaiEnthusiast‧ U were there tdy!!!
I do hope they fix the giraffe situation too and change to pure-bred giraffe too. They held South African giraffes at some point then imported a Rothschildt's bull (brilliant... for breeding) from Europe and bred from him! They lost that bull at some point and since brought in 2.0 giraffe hybrids from Mysuru in India.So currently there's 2 Zebras in the Giraffe enclosure, that's neat
Edit: Asked a keeper about it since I was also looking for the Lechwe (not on display for a while sadly) but they are planning on combining both the Zebra and Giraffe enclosures
I'd say about time

Mandai are probably not going to be breeding giraffes for the foreseeable future so they've moved to a bachelor herdI do hope they fix the giraffe situation too and change to pure-bred giraffe too.
