Three, American Alligators have been on exhibit for nearly a week. There isn't underwater viewing but the glass is framed-in low to the ground. There are also smaller alligators (12"+\-) that Education Staff can bring out to meet the public. Windows to the Wild is still under construction. The buildings roof has been completely replaced and the monstrous overhang is now gone. Caribbean Flamingo are back in their courtyard exhibit. There is a mesh canopy over the flamingo exhibit. The area is still not open to visitation, but can be seen by the Jaguar exhibit. I am unsure what will take up residence in Windows to the Wild, other than the Flamingo. Since the overhang is now gone they have erected shading so the glare on the viewing glass isn't so harsh. The exhibits didn't have that issue when the overhang was in-place. It is a fun, exciting time at Stone Zoo. The weather has been cooperative and the animals have been extremely active. Harry and Kira (Snow Leopards) continue to be on-show together. Kira was always an active leopard bounding all over the exhibit mesh and rocky cliff. Now she pesters and plays with Harry and are visible.
