Just a few notes...
-Blakely's Barnyard is once again open in the Children's Zoo; however, all of the cattle, both miniature and Dexter, are now gone. They've been moved to the zoo's offsite farm and breeding center.
-The signage for the species in the mixed hoofstock yard is now up, as is a series of temporary tarp barriers to define the barriers of the enclosure for when the animals are introduced to the yard. (I was told this was supposed to happen a few days ago, but apparently it did not as the the barriers have been put up sometime between Wednesday and today). Informational pages on the new species have also been added to the website.
-It appears that it will, in fact, be bat-eared foxes that will be on display, and not meerkats. I have heard, however, that a meerkat exhibit may come alongside the hippo exhibit in the final phase of Africa.
-Upon opening, Painted Dog Valley will feature two dogs, a male from Brookfield and a female from Oglebay's Good Zoo. A third dog, another male, will be arriving from Franklin Park at a later date.
-Also, there is yet again construction work being done on the okapi and bongo yards... It seems as the construction there is never ending...
