ZooParc de Beauval Zooparc de Beauval news 2025

Some news of the rocs de Dodoma (from today) :
The dik-diks are on display with the porcupine and… meerkats ! They switched the dwarfs mongooses for meerkats, so all the 3 species are on display but the windows are not accessibles, there is fence next of them. There is still the info board of the mongooses. The meerkats have access to the mongooses indoor habitat. The meerkats are from the African plain, the mongooses are in the bat-eared fox exhibit, so the meerkat enclosure is empty. The bat-eared foxes are gone, I didn’t see them anywhere (maybe in the rocs of Dodoma in the hyraxes house ?)

New species in the dome: Vanellus coronatus, a pair in the Rodrigues Fruit-bat aviary

In the african elephant house, appart of the change of meerkarts in the rocks of dodoma enclosure, a savannah monitor is back.

For all the "zoo freaks" with the idea to visit this year Beauval, the golden monkeys are simply wonderful. Beautiful, calm, peaceful and easy to see and be shooted by their behaviour and by the design of the enclosure.

Is it really busy at the golden monkey exhibit ? It seems to me more a species for us zoonerds than the general audience. I'm visiting in july on my way back from Spain

There's a lot of public communication about the Golden Monkeys in Beauval, because of their proper rarity and bright coloured hair, and because they complete the famous Chinese wildlife collection of the zoo including the Giant Panda family.
Many visitors are willing to see these primates, not only the zoo nerds like us.

Especially given they have been popularised somewhat by the His Dark Materials BBC show, although not sure whether this has been popular in France at all

In fact many Zoochatters oppose renting GSN Monkeys b/c they prefer the rents to be invested for saving more endangered species rather than being paid to China. Based on the video released by Beauval and Pairi Daiza, looks like GSN Monkey is more popular to general visitors than I thought, I initially thought most audiences may think "it is just another type of monkey"
