ZSL London Zoo ZSL London Zoo News 2016

So, what is the Masterplan 2016 like?
Do we know?

What about "the earlier" versions ...????

Care to elaborate!

What Has the Masterplan 2016 or Older Versions Got on them that they are Changing in Zoo like The Africa Section or A New Walk-through In the Snowdon?

A visit today was interesting; very busy! The red duikers are now signed at the okapi exhibit; also saw the aye aye very clearly nibbling at some wax worms in a log!
Saw all the biguns; gorillas, tigers and lions! :)

Did you see Bhanu at all? I was looking today but have yet to see him!

No I didn't! When did you go? I went in around five minutes before the zoo closed but then a group I'm assuming were staying in the Gir Lodges came by so I thought I should pop off. They stopped at the Hanuman Langurs just as I left.

Think I was there around 5.00, passed a keeper carrying a bucket of chicken pieces but didn't see him feed anything with them so headed off to Gorilla Kingdom for the quieter last hour of opening

Ah we just missed each other!! I went to Tiger Territory first, then Gorilla Kingdom, and then Lions last.

Checked my camera last night and was actually at the Lions at 5.30. But still, no Bhanu!

Any observations on who was caring for which infant?

I am presuming that Jukie is caring for Gernot full time now, as every time I visit (and I only live like 20 minutes away so that's a lot) she is looking after both.
The same occurred when I visited; Jukie with Gernot, Alika playing not too far away (mostly with Effie, occasionally with Kumbuka before being whisked away by mum!) and Zaire and Kumbuka as usual mostly alone.

Thanks. It sounds as though they've sorted things out nicely amongst themselves then. And it's good to hear that Kumbuka, my old favourite from Paignton, is getting some family time :)

Few updates from the Fellow's Day - the Snowden plans look very, very nice indeed, elephant barn at Whipsnade is ahead of schedule.

The tree kangaroo will be on show in the next few months and is a beautiful animal, I was honoured to be taken behind the scenes and shown her!

Exciting news! What are the plans for Snowdon, and where will the tree kangaroo be going?

Seems to be essentially a big group of colobus!

Tree kangaroo will be going in the main biome apparently. Might muck up the geographic theming but I can confirm she is very chilled out and friendly... :)

Glad ShonenJake could answer your question Gigit, as when I was there only Kumbuka and Zaire were in the main room; one of the other females was just visible in the off-show rooms over the visitor path, but very hard to see, and didn't see either youngster.

Oflory, am very jealous you got to see the Tree Kangaroo, looking forward to her going on-show :) Took a look at the Clore from the Outer Circle on my way out, and can see the top of an enclosure which I am guessing is her's.

Any word on the Colobus species planned for the Snowden? Black and White?
