I wonder where they'd get skua from?
Perhaps there's a little-known species named after the amateur ornithologist, John Nelson Hobbs.

I'm thrilled for Kumbuka that he's done so well at London and I'm possibly doubly thrilled for Gernot that he's hopefully avoided Stuttgart!
I do wonder if we will see any more Gorilla babies sent to Stuttgart- it may have run its course. There are no babies in the nursery at present so any single baby that went there would be no better off than being reared adjacent to its home group e.g. Bristol's 'Afia'.

The current gorilla nursery (which is empty) is to be redeveloped into a guenon enclosure, so it seems that the nursery days are over.
I reckon Mjukuu's strong maternal instinct( or is it her dominance, or both?) meant she 'stole' Gernot, this has happened before( in the USA) and Effie just accepted it. But he will be far better balanced as a result of staying in the group.
For the record, Effie does not have a great track record as a mother so I'm not too surprised Mjukuu managed to take Gernot.

Two new baby tigers!
Looks like Jae Jae is bonding with them, wonder if he'll be allowed to stay with Melati and the cubs this time around?
Does anyone have a current species list for the Blackburn Pavillion please.
At Chester, I don't think Fabi was ever separated from Kirana, for a significant period, and they raised three litters together.
Alan
Just because it worked with one pair doesn't mean it will with a different pair! This is what I was thinking: I hope they do allow them to stay together.
