Stone Zoo Stone Zoo

I've talked with educator and she said they get a new gator every summer, iirc from St. Augustine Alligator Farm in florida
That has been true in the past, but did you confirm that it's still the case going forward? I don't remember the sign for the alligator being removed and the listing being removed from the website in the past. Also, that habitat has usually been empty during the winter, but now it's occupied by water foul. All this makes me wonder.

This was this summer so I'd assume its still the case, could've changed but I don't think it's that hard to obtain a gator in the summer, but either way we'll see soon

Always great to hear of babies at the Stone Zoo, particularly when I know the birth is a species that there is more demand for than what is available!

I haven't visited the Stone Zoo in a while, but I was under the impression that ringtails have not been publicly visible since last summer. I'm happy to hear they've got a new home.

The new Ringtail exhibit looks nice in those images, and appears much larger than their previous home. Hopefully the glare on the glass will be a lot better, too.

It does look nice. My concern is the amount of exhibit space below the windows and behind the wall. It seems as though the ringtails could easily be out of view. They were always difficult to see in their old exhibit even with a full window. I'm looking forward to seeing it in person soon.

alligator fence taken down last was there. window is still there but no gator just whoop crane. there was also pole with strings running to fence. asked staff about gator and strings. gators are no more and strings prevent ducks from landing with crane.

“The animal care team has been closely observing the baby and are seeing all good signs of its healthy development, including lots of nursing, curiosity and bonding with mom"

Does anyone know if Stone Zoo is still breeding gibbons or are the breeding pair not viable anymore?
I see no reason to believe the pair isn't viable. That said, whether the zoo is actively trying to breed gibbons at the moment is a joint decision by the zoo and the Species Survival Plan, and will consider factors such as genetics and space available.

Sadly one of the zoo’s lynxes has passed away. Patty the lynx was over 14 years old. She passed away due during a anesthetic medical procedure which she was not able to pull through due to her many age related health issues which the checkup was planned to better understand and look into.

Visit today weather was marvelous. Saw puma sisters sleeping. Buterfly oasis is cute but small. Most animals were out. Arctic fox passed away and bald eagle accoridng to volunter lady. she did not know if new animals would come. Would be time to renovate or expand as those cages are small. Roger william bald eagle live in the open. No cage.
